Henry in Autumn 2011

We've been slacking for the past few months on our blog posts. But we are going to make it up. Really, we will! We are going to make it up right now:

How about TWO movies, and a BUNCH of pictures? That seems pretty fair to us. Take a gander, and drop us a comment.

Henry loves to sleep. There isn't a baby in the world that is better at sleeping than him. We often find him asleep in unusual positions, and this is the latest weird pose. Show me a baby that is a good sleeper, and I will show you a baby that can sleep with his arm straight up in the air Tommie Smith-style from the 1968 Olympics.

Henry has a big noggin. There is no denying this. He inherited this from his Dad. This is a Sigety family trait that has, without a doubt, passed on to him. So we have been working on building that neck strength so he can lift up his mountainous melon. Here he is lifting his head up while playing with Mom.

Man and dog. Best friends from the beginning.

Note: Jocelyn wants to make it very clear that Henry doesn't cry very much. He is actually very well behaved. This movie makes it seem like he is crying all the time, but this isn't true at all. Joe just thinks he is funny.

We will conclude with our favorite picture of the month. On the cuteness scale, an infant wearing a raccoon beanie is an 11.

The End!

The Latest Addition.

He has finally arrived. Henry Joseph Sigety was born on August 26, 2011 at exactly 6:00 in the evening. He weighed in at an even 8 lbs., and we are thinking that his dimples will be wooing his female counterparts at a very early age.

The video we put together for you is cuteness in its most unadulterated form. An overload of cuteness, if you will. If this video were a President of the United States, it would be Bill Cute-ton.

We would like to thank again our family and friends who have supported us throughout the pregnancy.

Spring fever.

Finally. We have been waiting months for this to come. We know that you have, too. The frost has melted, and the green is poking up through the ground. It's spring! Now that the weather is warming up, Jocelyn has been able to teach a few lessons on the courts outside and Joe has been playing catch with Stella.

No one has been more appreciative of the warm weather than our dog, Stella. For most of the winter, her walks have been limited to quick jaunts around the apartment building because we haven't been able to romp around in the snow. But yesterday the temperature in Lincoln got above 70 for the first time this season. To celebrate we decided to spend the afternoon at the the Holmes Lake dog park in Lincoln. Stella was in heaven. To call this place a "park" would be an understatement. It's more like a dog ranch. There are about 20 acres for dogs to run around, and there are obstacles to run through as well as a creek that runs the length of the park. And on a busy day like Saturday, there were about 200 new dog friends for Stella to meet. We hope you are having as much fun with the warm weather as we are!

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE SIGETY FAMILY!

We would like to let you know about a big event that has occurred in our lives. And in true Notorious SIG form, we would like to let you know about it by a video presentation.

I'm a man, I do what I want! . . . when my wife tells me I can.

It goes without goes saying that law school requires a huge time commitment. Extra time is rare, especially over the past 3 or 4 weeks while I have been researching and writing a paper. Most nights I am up late studying, and when I get up in the morning sleeping a few extra minutes usually takes priority over shaving. So I have to admit my face was growing a little long. Nothing wrong with that right?

Well, Jocelyn kindly informed me of my erroneous ideas. She has been telling me for a few days that I need to shave. "Kissing is for shavers!" says Jocelyn. But for about a week or so I still didn't shave, and this did not make Jocelyn happy. She continued to insist that I shave.

So today I decided to show her. I was going to "shave". I came home from school before she got off work, and I came up with this little number:

She thought it was hilarious, but she said she wasn't going to kiss me anytime soon. Thats fine. I am a man, and I don't have to kiss her all the time. It's clear that I won this round.

But after much consideration, I decided to shave tonight . . . on my own. I decided after all kissing was for shavers . . . I now understand that prickly faces to do not attract wives.

Snow Day

Before we moved to Nebraska, native midwesterners would tell us about how bad the winters get in Nebraska an neighboring states. But to be honest, so far the winter here as been pretty mild. Well, a few days ago that changed.

We got about of foot of snow overnight, and it kept on snowing through the day. Here is a snippet from our home videos of us romping in the snow with our pup, Stella.
